Winford Manor aims to ensure that all employees, guests and others who use, or assist in, the provision of our services - whether they have a mobility difficulty, a visual impairment, are deaf or hard of hearing, are deaf-blind, have a speech impairment or difficulty, have a learning or mental health disability, use a wheelchair, cane, walking frame or crutches, or have any other disability - are treated equally and according to their needs.
All disabled guests and staff are to use the main entrance in to the hotel. The main building includes the Reception, the Atrium and the Bar. Access to the ground and first floor accommodation is through reception. The main entrance to the hotel is at the front of the building and the ground from the parking bays is paved. The access is level with automatic doors opening on to the reception area. Three disabled parking bays are located directly outside the main entrance. The main entrance leads directly into the reception area.
There are no steps within the ground floor area. The floor surfaces throughout the ground floor are ceramic tiles and short pile carpet. The hotel is located with hand rails and staircases throughout the hotel and there is a lift to the 1st floor.
The Atrium & Bar are provided with seats with and without back supports and armrests and table service is available. The hotel’s staff are made available to advise any persons that require assistance with the menus however, large print menus and wine lists are also available on request. The hotel caters for all catering dietary requirements.
Unisex disabled toilets are available on the ground floor near the Atrium. These are wheelchair accessible and are equipped with grab rails, emergency pull cords connected to Switchboard which is manned 24 hours per day. The two rooms fitted fully with disabled facilities are on the ground floor and are accessed through reception. The corridors on all floors are provided with short pile carpets. All floors are provided with fire doors that are held open on automatic magnets connected to the hotels fire alarm system. Should the fire alarm sound, these doors will automatically close.
Our Copper Beech Suite has an adjoining room for suitable for carers. Both Copper Beech and Beech have fully fitted 'wet rooms' equipped with grab rails both vertically and horizontally in contrasting colours for visually impaired guests, a shower seat and an emergency assistance pull cord. Service dogs are allowed to enter/ stay at the hotel.
